Best autopilot for a stern drive/rack and pinion boat currently fishing lake erie with a 1990 24 ft thomspon 240 fisherman. engine is a 4.3l mercruiser 175 hp. the steering is rack and pinion but i figure this will have to be removed and replaced when the autopilot is installed.. My 20 wa has what i think is called rack and pinion steering. does anyone make an autopilot for this steering or does one have to convert to hydraulic steering in order to have an autopilot..
