Love this game and the endless possibilities! i also like that it is packaged in a solid box. this sits nicely on the game-shelf. the pieces are fairly standard, but solid feeling. the board looks attractive and not like a cheaper board game. i wish that the option to have this nice box wasn't limited to the collector's edition.. I purchased this vintage wood book edition of life for my husband who has been collecting wood board games. he especially wanted this vintage edition because of the original rules of the game. if you're old enough to remember, the original rules has a different 'value' for boy children than girl children..
