If you watch a planing boat in motion, you'll notice that about the front third of the boat will be out of the water. with less boat in the water, there's less drag, and with that reduced drag comes better fuel economy, to a point. getting on plane. the smaller the boat, the more effect crew positioning will have on the boat's ability to plane.. Similar to the other regal rush xp i can't get my 1995 regal rush xp w/120hp sport jet to plane off. it just plows water at about 5mphs after a minute or so it will set up on plane and then will get upwards of 42mphs. i am curious if this could still be the same problem with the ride plate gasket or am i looking at a different issue.. Some users also report reduced exhaust noise when the boat is on plane. but the big advantage is in the boost at take-off. a well-set-up boat in the runabout or bass boat category should get on top in 4 to 5 seconds, and the foils make that possible in many cases with packages that previously took 8 to 10 seconds to get up, if they ever made it..
why wont boat plane out Re: why won't my boat plane out? sounds like a good thing the guy didn't use any nuts & washers or you could have tore up something real bad. i tried loading my boat on the trailer with the tm down once, that's all it took me to learn not to make that mistake again, only cost me a new tm..
