Ez strip paint & varnish stripper is the only eco-friendly removal option for all types of paint and varnish on your boat! safe to use on your fiberglass gel coat with no damage. will not strip. Re: stripping paint from fiberglass boat kfc, there are many manufacturer's that make paint remover for use on fiberglass.try klean strip(water soluble)fiberglass paint remover.they may sell it here on iboats.after stripping, wash down the boat and lightly sand.most common strippers contain methylene chloride which is what to avoid using on fiberglass.it will melt the gelcoat/fberglass if left. The easy-off removed the “t” on both sides of the hull, so now he had a happy wife and permission to store the boat at home uncovered. easy-off works well enough that the professionals use it for removing painted letters and stripes, according to mike miro, owner of dynamic fiberglass boat repairs in deltona, fla., who also heard about it.

remove paint from fiberglass boat hull I have found a better way to remove fiberglass from a plywood hull. i bought a rare boat. designed by howard i. chapelle back in the 1930’s, it is a 30’ double ended sharpie cruiser (built in 1971) whose lines can be seen in chapelle’s book, boatbuilding.. The original white fiberglass/gelcoat is in excellent condition (very shiny with no spider cracks or cracks of any kind) but dark blue stripes (not original) have been painted on the hull. is there a way to remove the paint without damaging the gelcoat and fiberglass and maintaining the original shine of the white gelcoat?.
